Family Huddles was developed by Virginia McDonald, M.Ed., a teacher of gifted and talented students for 35 years and the owner of a private preschool and enrichment center.
Ms. McDonald is a mother, grandmother, teacher, administrator, author, marathoner, and hiker. She has tirelessly and lovingly devoted her life to the education of children.
The engaging questions that she has written are those that she used with her gifted students to help them develop essential critical and creative thinking skills. She realizes that the development of these problem-solving skills is critical for our children's futures. She wants parents to join her as "parent-teachers" in supplementing the school curriculum. She also wrote questions that deal with feelings and right-action to help parents instill their family values.
Virginia envisions lively conversations at dinnertime where family members put down their devices and talk and bond and laugh. She wants nothing more than to offer families these questions in the spirit of creating family togetherness — the benefits of which will last a lifetime.
