What is Family Huddles?
Family Huddles delivers three conversation questions every weekday — one to spark creativity, one to
build problem-solving, and one to grow emotional intelligence — to help families trade screen time for
real conversation at the dinner table. It was created by Virginia McDonald, drawing on 35 years of teaching
gifted and talented students and running her own preschool.

Getting started
Open the app and you'll be asked who's at your table, so we can match the questions to your kids' ages.
The Today tab shows tonight's three questions. Tap a category's button to swap in another
question, save a favorite, or mark it as discussed once you've talked it through. That's all there is to
it — no account, no setup, no internet required.
Frequently asked questions
How do the daily questions work?
Every family sees the same three questions on the same calendar day (matched to the age
group you choose), so you can compare notes with friends and grandparents. New questions arrive Monday
through Friday; on weekends the app brings back Friday's set so there's always something to talk about.
How do I set my children's ages?
You'll be asked when you first open the app, and you can change it anytime under
Settings → Your kids' ages. Pick as many age groups as you need — the daily questions
adjust to fit. Choosing none simply shows questions for every age.
How do I turn on the daily reminder?
Go to Settings → Daily reminder, switch it on, and pick a dinner-time
hour. The reminder is scheduled right on your device. If you don't see notifications, make sure they're
enabled for Family Huddles in your phone's system settings.
How do I save a question for later?
Tap the heart on any question — on the Today screen or in the Library — and it will appear
under the Saved tab, ready for your next dinner.
What does "Mark as discussed" do?
Tap Mark as discussed after your family talks through a question. It's
added to the "Questions Previously Discussed" list at the bottom of the Today screen so you can keep
track of what you've already covered. Tap the ✕ next to any entry to remove it.
Do I need an account or an internet connection?
No to both. There are no accounts, and all of the questions live inside the app, so it
works perfectly offline — at the table, in the car, or anywhere else.
Is my family's information private?
Yes. Family Huddles collects no personal information at all. Your reminder time, age
settings, saved questions, and discussed list stay on your device and are never sent to us or anyone
else. Read the full
Privacy Policy for details.
How do I delete my data?
Since everything is stored on your device, simply deleting the app removes all of your
saved preferences and history.
The questions don't seem to change — is something wrong?
That's expected. There's one set of three questions per day, intentionally, so the whole
family focuses on the same conversation. Want a different one right now? Use the "Another" button on any
card, or browse the full collection under the Library tab.
